There! First font reworked and an email explaining my idea behind it has been sendt. Included in the mail to the designer was also the "demo" font in both OpenType and TrueType format. Fingers crossed! :)

Been making samples of how I intend to rework the fonts for my site. Will also need to document the changes visually for those I contact.
It takes a lot of time to rework fonts, but it would really be difficult to persuade the designers without giving it some real effort...

I tried getting in touch with one of the grand old men of freefonts, but came no further than his bouncer ;)
Oh, well - better start looking for designers with a known email address...

The search for a solution to deliver my idea to the endusers has started...
I'm spoilt for choice, but do I want a solution based on PHP or ASP?
And what about the domain name?
Hmmm again...

In the middle of the night it occured to me: there is a niche waiting to be filled in the font marked - somewhere between advanced commercial fonts and basic free fonts...
Cheap fonts, but with a complete characterset to cover (almost) all latin-based languages!
An idea that sorta looked impossible...
But what if I could use some of the many free fonts out there and rework them for international use?
Hmmm...
